Corporate history:
Seitz Scientific Industries Inc. traces its history to January, 1985 when the company Seitz Scientific Industries began.
The owner (Charles M. "Chuck" Seitz Sr.) became interested in alternate lighting for pilots in early 1985 because of his own increased need to fly at night. The first experimental auxiliary light was constructed around this time.
Light production continued and in September of 1988 Seitz Scientific Industries was awarded a contract by the U.S. Army for a number of Mike Lites ML-2 (The first production model).
In May of 1990 Seitz Scientific Industries responded to another RFP. This was for two R&D contracts (DAAK60-90-C-0041, DAAK60-90-C-0042) to produce a new generation of auxiliary light. Two contracts were awarded to Seitz Scientific Industries; one for a lip activated light, and one for a finger-mounted light. The prototypes were delivered in October 1990. These prototypes resulted in the Mike Lite ML-8, and the Fingerlite FL-5.
Due to expanding sales, Seitz Scientific Industries incorporated under the laws of the State of Alabama effective 1 January 1991. Some assets of Seitz Scientific Industries were purchased by Seitz Scientific Industries Inc. at that time.
Seitz Scientific Industries Inc. has continued to grow and expand its product line with a number of products, and is continually looking for new products and ideas.
